The Sachsenring Ensemble, located on the Sachsenring, is one of the most striking office buildings in downtown Cologne. The three-part office complex on Cologne’s city ring road was built in 1995 according to plans by the renowned Cologne architect Thomas van den Valentyn for Victoria Lebensversicherung AG. With a total area of approximately 25,000 m², the ensemble is one of the most significant office buildings of its era. The property was awarded the Cologne Architecture Prize in 2000 and is a listed building.

The Sachsenring Ensemble consists of three freestanding building sections as well as 167 parking spaces in a two-story underground garage. The amenities include a high-quality natural stone façade, several passenger elevators, room-by-room air conditioning via ceiling sails, a ventilation system, raised floors, and suspended ceilings. The office spaces have been modernized and can be customized.

The three building structures—the Cone, the Second Tower, and the Wing—create unusual architectural perspectives based on their respective basic shapes: circle, square, and rectangle. A circular glass structure forms a striking entrance and defines the appearance of the entire complex on the Ring. All parts of the convection facade were optimized through thermal simulation; despite the extensive transparency of the glazing, a g-value of less than 0.1 was achieved—an outstanding figure for sustainable and energy-efficient operation.
