Built in 1924, the former exhibition grounds were completely redeveloped in 2009, with the exception of the historic outer walls. Today, the listed "Rheinhallen" buildings form an impressive ensemble in Cologne-Deutz, directly on the banks of the Rhine north of the Hohenzollern Bridge. The area is one of the most modern office and retail locations in the city.
By mid-2009, a state-of-the-art office complex had been built within the listed brick façade, housing, among other things, the headquarters of the TV station RTL and parts of HDI-Gerling Insurance, which was taken over by the Talanx Group in 2006. The ensemble was supplemented by a parking garage with around 2,000 parking spaces. Due to the listed status of the tower and brick façade, the entire building complex was gutted and redesigned with high-quality architecture.
The spaces within the Rheinhallen offer exceptional diversity: different sizes and locations provide views of the central mall, the green inner courtyards, or the Rhine. In addition, the spaces can be used flexibly – from spacious open-plan solutions to smaller office units.
