Sitting correctly in the office

We often need to be reminded to maintain good posture. However, it is very easy for us to sit at a desk for hours on end. It only becomes uncomfortable when we start to feel pain in our back and neck. Typical office workers sit for up to 12 hours a day. For this reason, it is very important to learn how to sit correctly.

What are the actual benefits of sitting correctly?

  1. First of all, we have noticeably more energy when we sit upright, as this significantly improves blood circulation in our body. When we sit upright, we automatically breathe more deeply, allowing more oxygen to enter the body, which gives us more energy.
  2. An unhealthy posture contributes to neck, shoulder, and back pain. We have all experienced tension after a long day. That is why it is very important to sit correctly.
  3. It's hard to believe, but posture also has a direct influence on our thoughts. There are certain sitting positions that boost self-confidence and put us in a better mood.

Ergonomic office chairs and desks are available to make everyday office life as comfortable as possible. The height and depth of a perfect ergonomic office chair should be infinitely adjustable. The armrests and backrest should also be adjustable. Attention should be paid to the angle of the backrest. It should have a spring mechanism. The perfect backrest is between 36 and 48 cm wide. Ideally, the desk should be height-adjustable so that it can be optimally adapted to the body size. Legroom under the desk is equally important.
