Is sponsorship an option for your company? It can be worthwhile to support smaller clubs in order to grow together and achieve goals. Improving your company's image or increasing awareness are just a few of the possible benefits of sponsorship for companies. Which club or project is right for you depends on your objectives.
Who can I sponsor and how does it benefit my company?
Sponsorship is generally based on an agreed quid pro quo. For example, sponsors can increase their visibility or improve their image by displaying their company logo on jerseys or individual advertising spaces/media. For the sponsored clubs, on the other hand, sponsorship offers good financial support for the implementation or expansion of their own projects.
Football remains the most sponsored sport. It is followed by ice hockey, handball, and tennis. The better known the team is, the greater the effect for the sponsoring companies. The goals are achieved consistently over a long period of time. The areas of sponsorship can generally be divided into the following categories: sports sponsorship (sports teams), media sponsorship (programs, game shows), cultural sponsorship (museums, publishing houses), social sponsorship (education), and environmental sponsorship (eco-foundations). The intention behind sponsors' choice of organizations to sponsor and whether personal interest plays a role is individual and depends on the company.
Some possible goals of sponsors:
- Image optimization
- Customer acquisition/customer loyalty
- Increasing their own level of awareness
- Social media presence
- Increased sales
- Personal interest/passion
Larbig & Mortag as jersey partner of FC Rheinsüd
FC Rheinsüd Football is team spirit, speed, emotion, and joie de vivre—for young and old, for all walks of life. As sports-loving managers with personal and regional ties, Larbig & Mortag Immobilien is a sponsor and jersey partner of FC Rheinsüd. The club was formed in 2010 from the merger of VfL Sürth 1925 e.V. and TV 06 Rodenkirchen e.V. and has more than 850 members from 40 different countries. FC Rheinsüd can therefore call itself a large youth club.
Following the completion of a new sports facility, plans and ideas for the construction of a clubhouse are already in place. Sponsors are needed to enable the club to continue its development in the social and sporting areas. Financial resources are required, among other things, for team equipment and the expansion of the club's internal infrastructure.

FC Rheinsüd Köln IV – No more 11th division!
FC Rheinsüd IV was promoted to Kreisliga C in 2016/17. The team brings together friends and acquaintances who got together in the summer of 2014 to have fun and play a bit of soccer. The focus is clearly on having fun as a team both on and off the pitch, as well as a general passion for soccer and the desire to be rewarded for hard work. Accordingly, the team is open to all players, so that police officers, students, teachers, fathers, and players of all ages are integrated.
"After initial difficulties in the 2014/2015 season, we quickly realized that we could keep up quite well and narrowly missed promotion to the next league. In the 2015/2016 season, we hit a bit of a slump, but we quickly got over it. True to the motto, "All good things come in threes," we set our sights high for the 2016/2017 season and were determined to move up—hard work has to be rewarded, after all. On the last day of the season, we secured promotion with a 7-0 victory and have been playing in Kreisliga C ever since. If there were a bucket list for soccer, promotion to any league would be a greatkind of unforgettable feeling (we celebrated, laughed, and danced for quite a long time). Considering that we have many players who are older and probably won't be playing for much longer, it was a kind of gift and affirmation of our footballing age!
Our motto: "Never again 11th league" is meant to remind us that we (coaches, club, and many more), but especially the players who put their bodies on the line week after week, can achieve anything if they work hard and, above all, believe in their success. No matter what stage of life they are in. For me personally, it was important to help lay the foundations so that future generations of our club can benefit and learn from our success, which began in 2014." – Kelvin Liwanag (coach)
We share the belief that a combination of fun and hard work is the key to success and is rewarded accordingly. That's why we are particularly delighted for FC Rheinsüd on their promotion to Kreisliga C. It's great to witness the positive development of this likeable team and we are proud to have already achieved our first goals together. We wish the team continued fun and success!
