Strengthening team spirit and developing a stronger bond with the training company—that was the motto of this year's trainee event.
A company's investment in young and committed trainees is always an investment in the future. After all, first-class trainees are an important foundation for any company today. However, in addition to technical knowledge, social and personal skills are becoming increasingly important.
The apprentice team at Larbig & Mortag spent a day outdoors together with the apprentices from imovo, both partners of the NAI apollo group, enjoying a shared experience away from the demanding and stressful everyday work in the real estate industry.
After a sunny breakfast at 35 degrees in the shade, it was time to get to work. Five logs, 15 planks, and five ropes were waiting for the trainees on the shore of Lake Otto Maigler. The ingredients sound simple, but no one knew exactly how to build a raft with them.
After a brief introduction by the guide, the trainees split into two teams and started the competition. Planning and strategy were thrown out the window in the first few minutes, as each team wanted to find the right solution as quickly as possible. But it was only through teamwork that the first correct steps could be taken. Beam by beam, plank by plank, the floats grew.
Both teams were gripped by ambition and a neck-and-neck race developed. In addition to analyzing, planning, and getting stuck in, the trainees also had to be creative. A name and a flag had to be chosen for the two teams and the two floats. On one side was the "Orange Pearl" team and on the other the "Lamovo" team.
The competition consisted of three contests. The first part was already behind the two teams, as they were judged on who finished the float first. Points were also awarded for driving a figure of eight against the clock and for a 30-meter sprint on the water. For this, the two floats were launched. With everyone wet and cheerful, the paddles were plunged into the water and everyone present clearly had a lot of fun.
At the end of the day, one thing was clear: only by working together can you find solutions to problems, respond to them, and grow as a team. Finally, everyone gathered for food and drinks and reflected on the day's events.
We would like to say thank you for a great day!
