The company run in Bonn in 2019 – " Run as you are " was the motto here. In other words: run as you are, or to put it another way: run together as a team within the company. Because unlike the B2Run in Cologne a week earlier, team spirit is the top priority here. This is also a key factor in everyday working life.
Last week, the Larbig & Mortag Immobilien team took part in the company run in Cologne. But that wasn't enough for us, so our best runners from the Bonn team also took part in the 5.7-kilometer run through the beautiful Rheinaue park—for the first time, but certainly not the last.
It was a first-class event for all participants. In addition to the breathtakingly beautiful location, great organization with a warm-up program, lots of company stands, original team outfits, and a relaxed atmosphere, the event also had a social aspect. The Mukoviszidose e.V. association was delighted to receive numerous donations from the companies and many participants.
With no timing, as the focus was generally on fun and enjoyment, the approximately 11,300 participants set off in different groups. Cheered on by spectators, other participants, and great bands along the route, the course ran through the Rheinaue leisure park along the Rhine, past the artificial turf and Bonn's tallest building, the Post Tower, under the Konrad-Adenauer-Brücke bridge, and then parallel to Ludwig-Erhard-Allee to the finish line. There, the participants were greeted with isotonic soft drinks and thunderous applause. Everyone gave their best and all crossed the finish line together as one.
Afterwards, there was plenty of time to celebrate, chat with colleagues and other teams, and enjoy food and drinks. Meanwhile, the winners in various categories were honored. Since no time was kept, there were winners for the most unusual costume ideas, the most generous companies, the most participants, and many more.
Overall, the run differs from the Cologne B2Run in many important ways, but it is at least as spectacular. So now it's time for every Bonn-based company to register, pack their running shoes, and get ready to burn some calories next year!
