In April 2016, it was time once again for "Students in the Boss's Chair." The concept involves trading the classroom for the executive office for a day. This year, Nick Milobara gained insight into the real estate industry and accompanied Managing Director Uwe Mortag for a day.
The idea
This day is intended to give students the opportunity not only to get a taste of working life, but also to gain an insight into business management. The aim of this initiative is to show that the public image of entrepreneurs is often misrepresented. It is important to show young people that without entrepreneurs there would be no jobs and to explain the significance of this for our economy. The project day is intended to encourage young people to become entrepreneurs themselves.
DIE JUNGEN UNTERNEHMER launched this project back in 1980 with the aim of building a bridge between schools and business and giving students a realistic picture of what it means to be an entrepreneur.
Board member Uwe Mortag fondly remembers his early days as a young entrepreneur at Larbig & Mortag Immobilien GmbH: "Taking the step into self-employment was an unknown risk at the time. With the 'Students in the Boss' Chair' initiative, we are helping to ensure that it no longer has to be an unknown quantity."
Take a look behind the scenes and be the boss for a day!
the students write essays about their day on the job, which are then evaluated by a regional jury. The best reports will be rewarded with a trip to Berlin. Unfortunately, it is no longer possible to participate this year, but you can already apply online at https://www.junge-unternehmer.eu/aktionen/schueler-im-chefsessel.html for 2017.
