Every year, Larbig & Mortag Immobilien strives to organize an unforgettable day for its trainees, where everyone can get to know each other better and teamwork is strengthened.
None of the trainees knew what to expect that day, but one thing was certain—we were going to Düsseldorf. Together with the trainees from imovo GmbH and conceptstories Immobilien, we headed to a café in Düsseldorf for a delicious breakfast. After fortifying ourselves for the day, we walked together to the Wieland Hotel. When we arrived at the hotel, no one still knew what we would be doing. The guesses were that it would be a spa day, but these hopes were dashed just as quickly as they had arisen.
The hotel provided us with a conference room where we would spend the entire day. In previous years, the trainee day had focused on strategy, perseverance, and team spirit, but this year it quickly became clear that today's theme was creativity.
There was only one word on the whiteboard in front of us: "film shoot." After a brief round of introductions, the task of "filming" was explained to us in more detail. The relatively large group of trainees was randomly divided into three smaller groups, and each group had to shoot a promotional video for one of the three companies (Larbig & Mortag, imovo, conceptstories). We were given free rein; everyone could do what they wanted, as long as they presented the company. In addition to a costume box, each group was given a room where they could shoot their video. After about an hour of filming, each group had to edit their own video, which caused some difficulties for some, but these were overcome as a team. Afterwards, all three videos were shown to the entire group and the supervisors were allowed to choose a winner who had made the best video.
The day ended with a Mexican lunch and smiles all around. Overall, it was a successful day where everyone had fun and we were able to get to know each other better in a different environment than just at work.
